Recently, in the international
authorized test of TPC-E Server OLTP (online transaction
processing) performance test, Inspur Server based on the
latest 6-core platform made the latest world record with a
result of 702.90tpsE (transactions per second E), to the
most powerful 4-route server in the industry. Such an
achievement is the first time for China server industry
making a world record in the international authorized
database test, convincingly proving that Inspur server has
possessed the technical capability to undertake high-end
industry key application in telecommunication, finance, etc,
also marking that China server industry represented by
Inspur has entered key commercial application domain in the
competition with international manufacturers.
This is another surpassing in
the global database performance competition test after
Inspur making world record in TPC-H and SPEC tests, and the
latest achievement of Inspur for its constant efforts in
high-end commercial domains. Wang Endong, the senior vice
president of Inspur Group, said in an interview.
The Technical Program Committee
(TPC) is the most authorized server performance test
organization in the world, called the arena club of world
servers. Presently, almost all of world famous IT
manufacturers (like IBM, HP, SUN, etc) are members of TPC.
It is understood that TPC-E
test is the latest test benchmark launched by the
organization in March last year, gradually replace the TPC-C
with a history of 14 years. Compared with the last
generation of TPC-C test, TPC-E attaches more importance to
high-emulation of the model, which simulates the daily
business flow of the global largest e-stock exchange-New
York Stock Exchange, and the model frame complete the
transition from C/S frame to B/S frame, which is a typical
OLTP performance test benchmark of Internet era. In
addition, the data types are more abundant, expanded from 3
types to 10 types, with more complicated simulated
transaction conditions. TPC-E test is presently the only
third-party database performance test in the industry,
pursued by IT industry from chip manufacturers, OS
manufacturers to server manufacturers after being launched,
and its test results have been an important reference index
of implementing key system deployment by high-end industrial
users including finance, telecommunication and stock.
According to the general
industrial view, attending the international universal TPC
database OLTP performance test has been a symbol of server
manufacturers comprehensive strength. In the world, a type
test costs USD 2-10 million, but also needs a complete
technical team, which organize the all-around work from
system construction, optimization, test and application.
Moreover, breaking world records requires profound power of
server manufacturer in system optimization. Compared with
the peak floating-point capability of high-performance
server, TPC test is more capable to reflect the capacity of
the server platform facing the real commercial environment
and key transaction processing.
Actually, TPC-E test is just an
epitome of Inspur in persistent progress in high-end
commercial server. High-end commercial application has been
always the focus of Inspur server focusing on strategy. To
realize high-end commercial breakthrough, China server
industry need to face international competition, balancing
and requiring it with internationalized standards. From
attending, keeping pace to surpassing, Inspur Servers has

established a series of world record in international
authorized tests, including TPC-H and SPEC, accomplishing a
series of breakthroughs in key application domains from
database OLAP (online transaction processing), three-layer
frame to database cluster.
According to an internal
analyst, the TPC-E world record has fully indicated that
domestic server manufacturers represented by Inspur have
reached the international level in the solution development
and optimizing capability in high-end key domains. It is
significant to change the actuality of that China key
domains like finance and telecommunication have been grasped
by overseas server manufacturers and enhance China
information security in economic and social lifelines. With
further reduction of the strength gap between domestic and
overseas server manufacturers in brand and technology, the
market competition in high-end commercial domains has
entered into a whole new historical stage. |
